Short version: use the tools how you like, keep it legal, and remember that everything happens in your browser — we are never in possession of what you create with them.
Agreement to these terms
By using Hot Web Tools ("the site", "we", "us") you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to the whole site and to every tool on it. If we make a material change to them, we will update the date at the top of this page.
Licence to use the tools
We grant you a free, non-exclusive licence to use the tools on this site for personal or commercial purposes, for as long as the site remains available. This is permission to use the tools, not a transfer of ownership of the site, its code, or its design.
You may link to any page on the site freely. You may not copy the site’s code, design, or content and republish it as your own, or attempt to extract, decompile, or resell any tool.
Acceptable use
You must not use a tool to process content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or is intended to cause harm. You must not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other visitors, or try to circumvent any part of how it works.
Because every tool runs in your browser, we have no visibility into what you do with it and no way to police it in real time. Responsibility for how a tool is used rests entirely with the person using it.
Your files stay yours
Every tool runs entirely inside your browser. There is no upload step and no server that receives the files or text you work with: they stay on your device from the moment you open them to the moment you close the tab, and we never see, store, or have access to them.
You retain full ownership of anything you open, edit, or create using a tool. We make no claim over it and have nothing to hand over, delete, or retain, because it was never in our possession.
No warranty, limited liability
The tools are provided "as is". We try to keep them accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that any tool’s output is fit for a particular purpose, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that it will be free of errors.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or its tools, including loss of data, time, or income. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hot Web Tools operates. Any dispute arising from them will first be attempted in good faith between the parties before either side pursues formal proceedings.
